Racer Snake

How do I take care of baby black racer snakes?

I found 3 very infant black racer snakes in my yard while I was digging up my mailbox. I cought 2 of them and put them in a box with some soil from where I found them and put in some rollie pollies and a couple snails. They look like worms but if you look really close you can see their tongue and tiny eyes. My guess is they arent more than 5 days old.

Actually, I doubt they're black racers at all if they look like worms...

THIS is a juvie black racer: (if memory serves, average size at hatching is 5 to 7 inches...) http://www.snakesandfrogs.com/scra/snakes/images/nbracerjuv2.jpg

What I'm willing to bet you have are these: http://www.californiaherps.com/snakes/images/lhhumilis2sd04.jpg or some other variety of blind snake.

If this is the case, they're full grown and VERY difficult to keep sucessfully in captivity, and I would put them back.
